How to remove a green screen from an exercise clip
In Clips, open the menu on the clip, choose the green-screen tool, click the background to sample its colour, adjust the tolerance until the edges look clean and process. The work happens in your browser and takes a few seconds per clip. The result replaces the background with a colour or an image of your choice and is used in the Creator, the Recorder and Zoom classes alike.

Step by step
- 1
Film on a plain green backdrop
A sheet, a painted wall or a pop-up panel all work. Light it evenly and keep some distance between you and the screen to avoid green spill.
- 2
Open the clip menu
In Clips, the three-dot menu on a clip holds the power tools, including green-screen removal.
- 3
Sample the colour and set the tolerance
Click the green area to pick the exact shade, then move the tolerance slider until hair and clothing edges are clean without eating into them.
- 4
Choose the background and process
Pick a solid colour or upload an image, then process. The clean clip is saved in the library.
Common questions
- Does it work on any colour?
- The sampler picks whatever colour you click, so a blue screen works too. An even, well-lit backdrop matters more than the exact colour.
- Can I undo it?
- Keep the original clip until you are happy with the result; upload it again if needed.
