How to upload and trim exercise clips
Open Clips, click Upload Clips and pick any video, even a long one. Drag the handles (or press A for the start and D for the end) to cut each exercise to its best ten to twelve seconds, up to 20 seconds, name it after the exercise and add it to the queue. Finish uploads the whole queue at once. Name files after the exercise (Jumping Lunges.mp4) and the clip matches automatically when you type that name in a workout.

Step by step
- 1
Open Clips and click Upload Clips
Clips is your exercise library. Every workout, recording and Zoom class draws from it.
- 2
Pick a video
A clip you filmed per exercise, or one long recording you will cut several exercises out of. MP4 or MOV from any phone or camera.
- 3
Trim the exercise
Drag the handles or press A (start) and D (end); Space previews the selection. Each clip can be up to 20 seconds; around 12 is ideal because it loops during the set.
- 4
Name it and add to the queue
Add Exercise names the clip and queues it. Repeat for every move in the same video.
- 5
Finish
Finish uploads the queue. A moment later the clips are ready, with a thumbnail, in the library.
Two rules that save time later
Keep clips under 20 seconds, and name them exactly after the exercise. When you build a plan and type Squat, the library offers your Squat clip at once; a clip called IMG_4021 never matches anything.
Library limits by plan
Starter stores 100 exercise clips in the cloud, Pro 300 and Ultimate 1,000. Clips can be searched, sorted and added to a workout with the plus button.
Common questions
- Why is my clip still showing Processing?
- Uploads are compressed and given a thumbnail on the server; big 4K files take a minute or two. If a clip stays on Processing for more than a few minutes, reload the page or contact support with the clip name.
- Can I film in portrait?
- Yes. Clips keep their orientation; for a portrait workout video pick 9:16 in Design.
- Can I replace a clip?
- Upload the new take with the same name and delete the old one from the library; workouts match by name.
